Spring Break and Easter 2012

I was wondering if it was ever going to get here! it was 3 weeks later than it has been for the past 10 years of me working and then of course it flew bye. Cole and I had the whole week together. We had so much fun. We just did whatever we wanted to do and of course didn't get to everything that I had hoped :( We will have to make that up over summer break!! which is only 7 weeks away. Ok, back to Spring Break. The first morning of vacation Cole slept until 8am, which was a nice treat. That day we met up with Uncle Craig for lunch and yogurt, then mailed out my 1st birthday invitations. Later that night we went over to Uncle Brad and Ben's to do a load of laundry since we had a pipe mess up. Hopefully it will be fixed soon, but at least I am seeing all the Uncles :) Tuesday we went to get spring pictures made, see the "other" Coggin crew (Uncle Lincoln, Aunt Pam, Seth and Zane), and went to check out Opry Mills since it just re-opened. On Wednesday we walked all around TSU-ugh! (hopefully mommy FINALLY has everything completed for graduating in May!) then while mommy went to the dentist Cole hung out with KK. Thursday we went to Alabama to get our hair done and hang out with Julie. KK came along with us and got her hair done too! Friday, Good Friday we went shopping and got our things for Easter and my new shoes came in (Stride Rite tennis shoes in 5.5 DW) I am such a big boy in my tennis shoes-sniff, sniff. We had just a really good and relaxing spring break. Sunday was Easter. We went to church then to lunch with Papa, KK, and Uncle Craig and Brad. It is going to be hard to leave my little man on Monday.

11 months and such a big boy!!

Huh?
Seriously, these months are flying bye. Cole is doing so much these days. Tonight for instance...Casey was going upstairs to get Cole's bath ready. When he put him down Cole fussed for a second, as Casey was walking up the stairs he said "Well, come on". Cole flew over to the steps (he is such a fast crawler these days :) and began to climb them, ALL of them, like it was no thing. He has never done that. He has gone over to the stairs, climbed up one or two and then stepped back down, almost like he was afraid, but not tonight!! He has 4 good teeth in (2 top, 2 bottom) with two more on the top making slow appearances. His hair is growing so much. He is going to get it trimmed up over Spring Break when mommy gets her hair done. We have been trying some new foods. His new favorites are gold fish and greek yogurt. He is so curious about whatever we are putting in our mouths. The other morning I was eating a bowl of Peanut Butter Cheerios (my new fav) and he just put his big ole hand in my bowl and took a few :) We are also trying out different sippie cups. He doesn't seem to be a fan of any of them really, but is doing ok with the soft spouts ones like the Nuby's. He is also curious about walking. He took 4 big steps the other day. I was so glad that Aunt Pam, Seth and Zane saw it too or Casey probably would not have believed me. He has been talking one and two and then falling, but the other day at there house he took 4. He will be running before we know it. Since he took his big steps I went ahead and got some shoes. He got measured at Stride Rite for his 5 DW (double wide-hehehe) and so we got his first pair of tennis shoes. The birthday planning is underway! I cannot believe it is almost here. So exciting!!
Mom, is this sticker right?

10 Months has FLOWN!!!

How much fun is Cole? Wow! I seem to just love him a little more everyday if that is possible. He is just the sweetest little boy. Well, sometimes a little tough. We are having to work on that :) he is just curious and big. I think he is going to be my bull in a china cabinet! hahahaha He loves pulling up on everything, walking the furniture and even taking a few seconds where he lets go.  He thinks he is big stuff. His two bottom teeth are in good and the four top ones are trying to make an appearance.
Cole got impetigo on his feet really bad. The doctor said it was most likely from his eczema getting really dry, cracking and bacteria getting into it. Ugh!! His poor little feet. They looked bad, but didn't seem to bother him, thank goodness. He loves to look at books. It just makes me smile when he picks them up and turn the pages and smiles.
I also had my first night away from Cole and we all survived! Case was out of town too (In New Orleans for Brendon's bachelor party and March Madness). I got asked to speak at a training in Memphis and really could not turn it down so KK watched Cole. She said he was perfect and my trip was barely 24 hrs. 10 months was a busy month. I cannot believe I am planning his first birthday :) We are so lucky and blessed with this little guy.

Chattanooga

The basketball girls minus Katie, she was coaching :)
This past weekend we went to Chattanooga. It was a "Legends" weekend for the girls basketball team and since my three closest friends played basketball it was a great opportunity to go to Chattanooga and see them. It was also a good time to see Brendon, who we ended up staying the night with. The trip did not start at well since we got into traffic because a tractor trailer caught on fire. Both sides of the interstate were closed, Ugh! Cole really did do a pretty good job, but our two hour trip to Chattanooga turned into a 4 1/2 hour trip and he was done. The weekend went to quick and I felt like I didn't really get to catch up, but I am glad we went. It was really good to see them all and see them with there kiddos. It is crazy to see how things have changed in the last 10 years since we graduated. CRAZY!

9 months! Sounds so old..sniff, sniff

heeeh-you funny mom

Mmmm...like this?
I cannot believe I am the mother of a 9 moth old. It seriously seems like I just had him. Cole is such a big boy! We went to the doctor for his 9 month "well" visit yesterday. We got our "perfect" from the doctor. Cole weighted 24.5 pounds (95%) and was 30 1/2 inches tall (off the charts). She said that he was the average size of a 16 month old. That just blows my mind. I know everyone always thinks that he is older than he actually is-so now I know why. Cole is pulling up on everything and crawling every where. He has done the whole one handed/let go to whatever it is that he is holding onto. He gets into EVERYTHING!! He is just so curious. His two bottom teeth are coming in and she said that they would most likely be popped out by the end of the week. She also said that he would slow down a lot in his weight. She said he would probably only be about 30 pounds at 2 years so I guess we will see. She also said that he would most likely be walking in the next 4 to 6 weeks. Lots of information since we do not go back until he is 1 year, which is right around the corner, sniff sniff. She gave us the green light for finger foods and table foods so that will be fun to try. Tonight I gave him a few bites of a scrambled egg, it was a hit! I cannot wait to see the new adventures!!
The next van Gogh?

RASH!! We are still not sure why? Benadryl worked

Happy New Year!

...and what a great year it was for us!!! We had a laid back day here at the Coggin house. Cole has been a little croupy with a cough so we just chilled at home most of the day, besides our outing to the store. Casey was home with us today so we just relaxed and watched bowl games all day. I threw in a little house work here and there, but not much :)
Cole and I went to Publix to get a few items for our New Years Day meal tomorrow (Pork Chops, Macaroni and Cheese, Turnip Greens, Black eyed peas and corn bread). They had this really cute car cart and Cole thought he was big stuff in it. He was cracking me up!
Happy New Year to everyone. We hope you have a wonderful 2012 as we are excited to see what God has in store for us.

Cole's 1st Christmas

Merry Christmas! Love, The Coggins
Well, I am completely exhausted but we sure did have fun! We just got back tonight from celebrating Christmas with the Coggins. We went to Berry, AL. It was a short trip, but good to see everyone. We are officially done celebrating Christmas 2011, Cole's 1st Christmas. He had no idea what was going on but he loved all the attention, wrapping paper and tissue paper! :)
Our Christmas started Christmas Eve when Uncle Ben and Uncle Brad came over. Case was in the mood to cook some appetizer's so that is what we did. We also made fudge, which is a Coggin family tradition.

Then Christmas morning we were together as a family of 3! and Santa came :)

Then Monday the 26th we went to AL for our last celebration. I was not feeling very well and we had actually thought that we were not going to go, but then at the last minute we did. I am glad we did although it was exhausting for me. It is a 4 1/2 hour drive down there. Cole actually did really well. It the past he has not been a very good traveler. We got down there Monday night and went to the basketball tournament that Berry girls and Hazel Green boys (Greg's team) were in. Cole was not a fan of the game. Actually I think it was the gym and being tired. The echo, screeches, horns, fans yelling, well it was to much for him. He spent most of the games outside of the gym. Both teams won though! Whoo Hoo! and will go on to play Tuesday. That night we went back to Vic and Jennifer's to hang out and spend the night. I was leery about this as well. Cole doe snot do well in his bed. He did stay up a little later than usual but was asleep by 8:30. He slept good from 8:30-3:30, then he was done. We were up most of the night, which made for one tired momma, especially since I did not feel well anyways. Tuesday morning we had a big breakfast and then had our dirty Santa game with the family. Casey ended up with a neck massage and I ended up with a Starbucks gift card, a can of spam and a lottery scratch off. Cole got some presents as well :) He got lots of stuff for the bath from Uncle Lincoln, Aunt Pam, Seth and Zane. He got $ from Paw Paw Wilb, and he got two sleepers and a puzzle from the Herren crew. Everyone was so glad to see Cole. We left Tuesday around 3:00, when the others were leaving to go to the tournament. It was a long ride home, but all in all we had a good time. I will have to see if Aunt Pam has any pictures. Our camera died so we do not have any pictures from AL.
The bib for my Alabama family! hehehe  " Are these people REALLY my Relatives?"

I forgot to mention on Friday, the 23rd. Cole and I went over to our "old" neighbors house, The Russell's. There daughter Ashley and I are good friends. The Russell's moved next door to us when I was 5 years old and Ashley was 1. I thought she was my real live baby doll. I carried her around everywhere, dressed her up and learned to french braid by playing with her hair all the time. We went over there because Ashley has a little girl, Sarah, who was born the day before Cole. Ashley was actually due a month later than me, but her water broke and we ended up having them within 24 hrs of each other. So we wanted Sarah and Cole to meet. Here are a few pics from our afternoon with them.
